Five Outdoor Fun Activities for Cooler Weather

Outdoor fun activities can be challenging in coastal areas in the fall and winter.  The water may be too cold to get in, and the beach conditions are not always enjoyable. 

No need for boredom!  Here are five outdoor fun ideas to include family and friends.  The first four do not even require you to leave your own backyard. 

1)  Outdoor Fire Feature

Outdoor fire features pack in more fun than you think. When we purchased one for display at Riviera Outdoor Decor, I wondered how much we would use it, and how much enjoyment it would bring.  Was I pleasantly surprised!  We have livened up staff meetings, and enjoyed hours with family and friends, while enjoying every sunrise and sunset with the added ambiance of the fire feature.

Always the family favorite- S'mores.  However, be sure to include other goodies such as hot chocolate and something to roast over the fire. Hot dogs, marshmallows….popcorn anybody?

2)  Outdoor Pool Table/Ping Pong/Shuffleboard

Outdoor patio games are a great idea for the fall and winter season and really all year long!    You can still enjoy the fresh air and have fun with family and friends out on the patio.  If it's too cold, keep the fire feature safely close by.

3) Cook a Meal over a Campfire

Recent studies have shown what we have known to be true and that is the beach is one of the best places to alleviate stress and heal your brain. The sound of ocean waves are known to put most people in a calm meditative state, the cleansing and detoxifying smell of salt water with the feeling of warm sand beneath your toes cannot be beat!
