At Riviera Outdoor Decor, we have spent our entire life on Island time and have developed a deep affinity for the coast and the aesthetic inspired by it.
Our love for outdoor living and design, along with our years of experience have enabled us to not only design beautiful outdoor spaces but create outdoor spaces that address the problems associated with the outdoor elements. That is cool in the summer, warm in the winter and free of outdoor pests.
As coastal residents, we have experienced the feeling of emptying our wallet continuously replacing outdoor furnishings. Through years of experience and testing, we have developed a curated collection of coastal outdoor furniture and kitchens. Our designers are specially trained in outdoor living not only in design but construction with specialized CEUs in outdoor living and kitchens.
We are a family owned company of Designers and Engineers along with being lifelong residents of the Coastal Bend. We have worked hard to develop a stellar reputation for high quality outdoor furnishings and kitchens within our community and online presence.
Lead designer and owner of Riviera Outdoor Decor
Melissa is a graduate of the New York School of Interior Design. She holds a Master of Science from Texas A&M, Magna Cum Laude; Bachelor of Business, Texas A&M, Finance and Accounting; Custom Home Furnishings Academy- 15 Certifications including Outdoor Living.
Melissa has been honored three times- 2018, 2019 and 2020, to have received the highly coveted and esteemed International (IWCE)/Vision In addition, Melissa has had her designs published numerous times in both national and local media. For more detail see "Awards and Recognition".
She is the former Vice President for the Custom Home Decor Network, former board member at large for the Window Coverings Association of America (WCAA) and the Immediate Past President for the Window Coverings Association of America- Virtual Chapter. She is also the Administrator for the Soft Furnishings and Upholstery Workroom- Network page of 1,200 members on Facebook.
Melissa started Riviera Decor almost twenty years ago followed by the Outdoor Furnishings store of Riviera Outdoor Decor.
Lead Engineer
Mark is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri with dual degrees in Chemical Engineering and System Science and Mathematics, Summa Cum Laude.
If something needs to be done that appears extremely difficult, requires precision and seems impossible, Mark is who we turn to. We credit Mark for the engineering behind the wind-resistant outdoor curtains.
Design Assistant and Studio Manager
DIane bring a vast experience of design, management and real estate experience. Diane is an integral part of our Riviera Outdoor Decor and Resorts
We have received numerous international awards and publications for our designs and workmanship. This means for our clients that you are receiving not only the best in design of outdoor decor, but a product that is made to the most stringent of standards as selected by industry leaders and judges.
We are the proud three time recipients of the coveted and highly competitive (IWCE)/Vision Magazine award for 2018, 2019 & 2020. IWCE/Vision Magazine is the "Academy Awards" for custom home decor.
Our notable win in 2019 recognized our innovations in wind-resistant outdoor curtains as feautured on the wall of our design office.
