In a climate-controlled showroom, the cabinets gleam, the cushions are spotless and everything looks beautiful. But one important thing is missing: the outdoors.

A polished display shows you style—not how a product handles sun, salt air, humidity, wind and rain. It does not answer the question, "how will this product look outside 10, 20 or 30 years down the road?

The questions you need to ask is... How long has it been tested outdoors, and under what conditions? This will answer the question if you want all-weather or marine-grade.   What maintenance does it require? Does the person helping you have the training and firsthand experience to explain how the materials, finishes and hardware hold up?

If you’re hoping for 10, 20 or even 30 years of enjoyment, you deserve realistic expectations—not just a sales promise.

We don’t believe in “one-size-fits-all” outdoor living. What works in northern Michigan won’t necessarily withstand the harsh coastal conditions of the Gulf Coast or tropical climates. Outdoor furniture, kitchens, and especially appliances must be tailored to their environment to truly last. That’s why we specialize in coastal outdoor living—designing spaces and selecting materials specifically engineered to handle salt air, intense sun, and humidity.

The Problem With Climate-Controlled Outdoor Showrooms

There is nothing wrong with displaying samples indoors. In fact, Riviera has a climate-controlled sample and design room where we meet with clients to review cabinetry, finishes, colors, materials and custom design options comfortably.

But that's different from using an indoor showroom as proof of outdoor durability.

Almost everything looks beautiful when it's new, polished and sitting in air conditioning.

Outdoor living isn't displayed indoors—it's experienced.

That's why we believe homeowners should have the opportunity to see how products perform after living outside in the conditions for which they're being recommended.

How We Got Our Start

At Riviera Outdoor Décor, we are a family owned business and lifelong residents of the Coastal Bend in Corpus Christi, we understand both the beauty and the challenges of coastal living. We’ve experienced firsthand how harsh salt air and humidity can be on outdoor products. At one point, it felt like we spent more time replacing outdoor furniture than actually enjoying it.

That’s when our founder and lead designer, Melissa Hammann, decided to create something better. With a background in interior design and specialized expertise in outdoor product construction, she set out to curate a collection of outdoor furniture and kitchens designed specifically for coastal durability and long-term performance and that meant marine grade products.

Every piece we offer has been carefully selected—and field-tested—for longevity. In fact, that commitment to real-world performance is what led to the creation of our outdoor showroom, where products are proven to withstand the very conditions they’re designed for.
