 At Riviera Outdoor Décor, we're disrupting an industry built around selling outdoor furniture from indoor showrooms. Our showroom is outdoors - on the coast and next to a saltwater pool - where every product is exposed to real-world conditions. We continuously test for coastal humidity, saltwater corrosion, UV exposure, and powerful wind gusts to ensure our furniture doesn't just look good on a showroom floor - it thrives in the environments it was built for. Why?

II  The reality is that outdoor kitchens and outdoor furniture do not live in a showroom

It lives in blazing sun, relentless humidity, driving rain, salt air, pool chemicals, high winds, and dramatic temperature swings. It faces everything Mother Nature can throw at it—and in coastal regions, those conditions can be especially unforgiving.

At Riviera Outdoor Décor, we believe outdoor kitchens and furniture should be engineered for the climate it will live in, not simply marketed from the comfort of a climate-controlled retail floor.

That's why we field test the furniture we sell.

Our products aren't evaluated under perfect conditions. They're tested and used where outdoor kitchens and outdoor furniture actually work: outdoors. Exposed to coastal humidity, intense UV rays, salt-laden air, sudden storms, and everyday family use. We monitor how materials perform, how finishes hold up, how fabrics resist fading, and how construction methods withstand the elements over time.

III  In many ways, we're challenging the traditional outdoor living showroom model.

Instead of asking, "Does this furniture look good in a showroom?" we ask, "How will this outdoor kitchen and furniture look after years of real-world exposure and use?"

That difference matters.

Consumers deserve furniture that's designed for their climate, whether they live along the Texas Riviera, along the Gulf Coast, in Florida, Arizona, or anywhere else outdoor living is part of daily life. The environmental challenges in each region are unique, and outdoor furniture should be selected accordingly.

So why do so many people still buy outdoor kitchens and furniture from climate-controlled interior stores?

Often, it's simply because that's how the industry has operated for years. The showroom experience is comfortable and convenient. But comfort inside a store doesn't necessarily translate to durability outside the home.

IV  Why does Riviera Outdoor Décor field test Outdoor Kitchens, Furniture and Accessories

Simply put, we live on the coast, and we know firsthand how quickly inferior outdoor products can deteriorate when exposed to salt air, humidity, intense sun, and harsh weather conditions. We've all experienced outdoor furniture that fades prematurely, rusts, warps, or has powder-coated finishes that begin peeling and flaking.

That's why, over the years, we have researched, selected, and field-tested outdoor kitchens, furniture, and accessories in real coastal conditions to determine which products truly endure and which are easiest to maintain. Our showroom serves as a living laboratory, allowing us to evaluate performance year after year in the same environment our customers experience every day.

Many of the materials we feature are the same marine-grade materials trusted on ships and yachts that spend decades exposed to the harsh conditions of the open sea. If a material can withstand saltwater, relentless sun, humidity, and the constant abuse experienced at sea, it can certainly thrive in your backyard.

It's a level of testing and real-world validation that simply cannot be replicated inside a climate-controlled showroom.

1).  316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel Outdoor Kitchen Cabinets

Overview

The 316 Stainless Steel Outdoor kitchen cabinets are the premier product in outdoor kitchen cabinets. In our showroom they are used quite frequently.  Every drawer and cabinet operates just as smooth as it did the day we installed it with a soft close technology. The gaskets and the magnetic closure have held up well.  No sand, dirt or any unwanted visitor ever.  In five years time with strong wind gust, we have never seen a cabinet door or drawer forced open

Rust/Corrosion

No rust or corrosion has been found on the kitchen cabinets of 316 Stainless Steel.  Some rust did show on the 304 Stainless Steel handles but it did clean off easily.  The outdoor kitchen handles now come in 316 Stainless Steel as well.

Scratches/Dents/Finish/Hinges

No scratches, nor dents or fading of any powder coat finish.  The hinges look the same as the day they were installed

2).  304 Stainless Steel Outdoor Kitchen Cabinets

Overview

The 304 Stainless Steel Outdoor kitchen cabinets with powder coat  have been an exceptional addition to our outdoor kitchen lineup. After years of exposure to coastal conditions, every drawer and cabinet door operates as smoothly as the day it was installed, thanks to premium soft-close hardware and quality construction.

The weather-resistant gaskets and magnetic closures have performed exceptionally well, keeping out sand, dirt, moisture, and unwanted pests. Even more impressive, despite years of strong coastal winds and gusty weather, we have never experienced a cabinet door or drawer being forced open.

3). Cast Aluminum Outdoor Kitchen Cabinets

Overview

The Cast Aluminum Outdoor Kitchen Cabinets do not have the magnetic soft closure nor sealed gaskets of the Stainless Steel Outdoor Kitchen cabinets.  Some dirt and debris have entered.  To overcome this problem, we have used sealed containers.

Rust/Corrosion

No rust or corrosion have been found on the cast aluminum outdoor kitchen cabinets. A small amount of rust has been found on the 304 stainless steel handles.  However, the rust cleaned off easily.

Scratches/Dents/Finish/Hinges

No scratches, nor dents or fading of any powder coat finish.  The hinges look the same as the day they were installed

Marine Grade Polymer Outdoor Kitchens, stronger than HDPE, available at Riviera Outdoor Decor

4).  Marine Grade Polymer Outdoor Kitchen

The Marine-Grade Polymer Outdoor Kitchen Cabinets are one of the newest additions to our curated outdoor kitchen collection. While this material has been successfully used in outdoor applications for nearly 40 years, it is relatively new to our product lineup.

As with every product we carry, we believe in real-world testing before making long-term performance claims. Although our initial results have been very promising, our field-testing process is still ongoing. We continue to monitor how these cabinets perform in our coastal environment, evaluating their durability, appearance, and ease of maintenance under constant exposure to salt air, humidity, sun, and weather.

Based on the material's proven history and what we've observed so far, marine-grade polymer is showing tremendous potential as a low-maintenance, weather-resistant outdoor kitchen solution. However, we will continue to let real-world performance guide our recommendations.

VI  Outdoor Kitchen Appliances- Five years of Field Testing

1). Evo Grill

Overview:

The Evo Grill  has been nothing short of exceptional. As the author of this review, I can honestly say I never truly appreciated grilled vegetables until we started cooking on this unit—it has completely transformed the way we prepare and enjoy healthy meals. When paired with quality oils, fresh ingredients, and the right seasonings, the results are on another level.

Over the years, this grill has delivered consistently outstanding performance and remains one of our most-used and most-loved outdoor cooking appliances. Its rich, glossy finish does require occasional re-seasoning to maintain peak performance and appearance, but that small effort is well worth the reward.

From heat control and cooking performance to durability and ease of cleaning, it continues to exceed expectations year after year.

One practical recommendation: if you don’t have a designated large surface or stand for storage, we strongly suggest investing in a proper holder or support base for the top. It ensures safe handling, better protection, and added convenience when not in use.

The Marine, Coastal Series Outdoor Refrigeration Systems, are Field-tested in real coastal conditions, this product has delivered outstanding performance. Internal temperatures have remained consistently stable and food-safe, even with external temperature swings ranging from 10°F to 110°F.

After prolonged exposure to the elements, we have observed no signs of rust or corrosion, further confirming its ability to withstand demanding outdoor environments while maintaining dependable, high-level performance over time.

The America Outdoor Grill (AOG) No problems have been associated with the AOG Grill over the years.  Piezo electrical ignitors have never failed to light and start the grill.

Overview

The modern luxury Castelle Outdoor Furniture line, crafted from cast, reticulated aluminum, has performed exceptionally well in real-world use. Client feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with no performance issues reported to date.

The only notable consideration has been lead time, as each piece in this collection is custom-made. Because of this, customers should plan for an estimated delivery window of 6–10 weeks.

Overall, it continues to prove itself as a premium option that combines refined design with durable, coastal-ready performance.

In a few isolated cases, minor product adjustments or potential issue areas were identified and addressed by the Riviera Outdoor Décor team prior to delivery, ensuring each piece met our standards before reaching the customer.

The LuxCraft line of HDPE outdoor furniture is one of the newest additions to our curated outdoor furniture collection. While the line itself has a strong reputation in the industry, it has only recently been introduced into our showroom and field-testing program.

At this stage, we have not yet gathered enough long-term data to make definitive performance conclusions; however, early impressions are very promising. As with all products we carry, it will continue to be evaluated under real coastal conditions for durability, comfort, and long-term performance before final assessments are made.

Overview:

Outdoor Interiors is a modern, moderately priced line of outdoor furniture offering a versatile mix of styles to suit a variety of outdoor spaces.

The collection includes designs in teak, mahogany, aluminum, eucalyptus, and wicker, providing a wide range of material and aesthetic options to match different tastes and environments.

These products are a recent addition to our curated collection. While long-term testing is still underway, early results are very promising, with performance indicators suggesting they are well-suited to withstand the challenges of coastal climates, including salt air, humidity, and intense sun exposure.

Our Coastal Marine Grade Ceiling Fans are designed to keep you cool while helping to reduce mosquitoes by creating continuous airflow—even during those calm evenings at dusk.

Many of our clients continue to enjoy cushions that have been in service for well over a decade. To help maximize longevity, we provide specialized care and maintenance instructions with every purchase and offer local concierge cleaning and restoration services.

Our premium foam inserts have demonstrated exceptional durability, with many remaining in service for more than fifteen years. They continue to perform as designed, providing comfort while allowing for rapid water drainage and quick drying after rain or moisture exposure.
