The short answer is, it depends on what outdoor kitchen appliances you want to include. Start with a list of the appliances you will want, considering future needs as well. The most popular features are:
Outdoor Grill
Outdoor Refrigerator
Sink
Storage
Trash receptacle
In addition, you may want to consider these options:
Smoker grill
Kamado grill
Flattop griddle
Ice maker
Wine cooler
Kegerator
Bar area
Warming drawer
Our website features several example kitchen configurations with approximate costs.
Aluminum is the least expensive of these materials, costing around 15% less than stainless steel. Marine grade (316) stainless steel will cost 20-35% more than standard stainless, but is worth the investment in coastal areas near salt water or near a salt water pool.
This will always depend on your local municipality and their local building codes and ordinances. Each one features a different set of ventilation rules, and they must always be followed to the letter. Here’s our golden rule: we recommend a vent hood for any grill that’s underneath a roof with at least 2 adjacent walls (or with poor cross-ventilation). The problems tend to come in when you get walls or a ceiling involved. If your grill stands under direct sunlight with great cross-ventilation, you’re probably in the clear… but check those local codes!

This is a personal opinion. We can tell you that we’ve never had a client who regretted their choice to have us design and install their outdoor kitchen. We would say it’s worth the investment if you love to entertain, you like being outdoors, and you plan to be in your home for a while. But even if you have to move, that custom outdoor kitchen will be an asset that adds to the value of your home.
In most coastal areas at a certain price point- an outdoor kitchen is an expected feature of the home. If one is not included, it could be a drawback for the prospective buyer.
Our outdoor kitchen cabinets come with clear, step-by-step instructions for assembly. In most cases, simple handyman skills and common tools are adequate for installation.
Begin with the end in mind. What are your ‘must haves’ in your outdoor kitchen, both now and later? How well does your outdoor kitchen fit into your overall space?
Since it is very difficult to add on to your outdoor kitchen later, think years down the road.
Once you decide to move forward, we will come to your location, and take photographs and detailed measurements of your outdoor space. (For our remote customers, we depend on you for photographs and measurements.)
Next, we will design the kitchen to include the appliances and features you request, within the space available. Your design documents will include, in both print and electronic copy:
3D Renderings
2D Floor Plan (booklet)
Elevation Drawings (booklet)
Itemized list of cabinets, appliances and furniture (booklet)
Finish samples with full size cabinet door sample based upon the finish and cabinet style selected.
Fixed price bid for all products
Update each week on your design process.
Our process ensures that we have removed the guesswork. You will know exactly how your outdoor kitchen will look and how it will fit and function in your outdoor space.
We charge a fixed price for the design service, which will be quoted to you at the outset, and depends on the scope of your project. We credit half of the design fee back toward your purchase of cabinets, furniture and appliances.
Our cabinets and appliances are selected for durability in outdoor service, so a cover is not necessary for protection. However, dust and dirt can accumulate quickly in an outdoor setting, especially in an open area, so many customers choose to use a cover to save time and effort in cleaning. Our complimentary outdoor kitchen covers come complete with vents to reduce condensation.
